About Moira

Welcome! Thank you for your interest to learn about me and how I work. I love what I do.

For what seems to be most of my life, I’ve been centered in a strong and heartfelt motivation to really contribute in this world. This could perhaps best be described as ‘a calling’ for me. As a counsellor and a facilitator, the experience of contributing by helping others has been, and continues to be, both meaningful and honouring.

It starts with the moment I meet another person and welcoming that person with openness, respect and high regard. I work together with others…connecting with each person and helping each to learn, to grow and to feel at ease in this world.

Over the last 24 years, the experience of contributing has been significant for me, in both volunteer and work roles with the not-for-profit sector. Some of these contributions include:

  • Outreach support and counselling for youth and families
  • Parent/teen mediation
  • Recruitment and assessment for foster parenting
  • Clinical support for employees
  • Development of curriculum and facilitation of training workshops for youth, parents, family caregivers, staff and/or volunteers.

In 2003, I started my private practice as a Registered Clinical Counsellor. Currently, I continue to offer counselling for youth, adults, couples and families. I also offer workshops for both the public and private sectors.

I am a daughter, a partner, as well as a parent of two adolescents. I continue to expand and deepen my skills and knowledge through my life experiences and ongoing professional development.
